Longboarding Stores in Michigan

I’ve gotten one board from modern skate and surf and I always tell my friends to go there because they are always really cool and have great boards. I’m trying to compile a list of skate shops that sell longboards in Michigan. There are TONS of them, most of them are kinda small and it’s really hard for me to find them so that why I’m starting this list. If you know of any , leave it in the comments with the Town and the Name of the store and what else they sell if you can.

“If it’s not too late, I’d check out Godspeed – godspeedlongboards(dot)ca – I own a Godspeed Shockra Series II Justice Foamcore riding on Tracker Fastracks with Bones Swiss and Seismic Speedvents. I was looking for a speedboard and heard they were the best there is. My entire setup costs around $600. It’s the first board I ever owned and I have no regrets. They also make traditional longboards and the customer service is second to none. Check ‘em out.”

“I’m no expert but if you want speed for downhill you want to tighten the trucks to prevent wobble right? How much is up to the rider. It’s a feel thing.”

“i think a big part about getting rid of wobbles is a lot of practice. you train the muscles in your legs ankes and feet to be more steady. i would say its 30% trucks 70% rider. practicepracticepractice!!!”

The Loaded Hammerhead (OH MY)

“This is the loaded hammerhead longboard. It’s got a nice flex to it and turns really nicely. I had a tough time deciding between getting this or a carveboard, but I found the hammerhead is more versatile and can go at higher speeds before wobble sets in.

Well this video has been up for about a year now and I never would have thought some fairly uninteresting footage of me rolling around on my driveway would get this many hits. I should post another of it carving down hills like it was made for. It’s a great board and I’m surprised it isn’t available any more. If you’re in doubt, pull apart a flowboard and make a hammerhead, it’s well worth it.”
