Longboarding NYC: Broadway Bomb Race 2009

March 31, 2010 in Bombing Hills, Longboarding, Media

from OriginalSkateboards:

New York’s longboarding push race free-for-all, straight down Broadway. Follow Brian Bishop pushing hard through the heart of NYC (and ~6 miles of traffic) on a slightly modified coarse to the finish of the 2009 Bomb.

If you missed the Broadway Bomb in 2009, be there (New York City) this October 2010 to add your name to the list of entries in what is quickly becoming THE signature longboard push race. Special thanks to Sam Houston and Dane Webber.

Longboarding: Let’s Go Already!

February 11, 2010 in Longboarding, Media

This got directed this way from Andrei and Adam Colton and I love it.

I love longboarding videos. The music. The mood. The visuals. There is always extremely perfect fitting music to go with stunning visuals. Whether its beautiful mountains or hard hitting tricks in a downtown area it never seizes to amaze me how great this little community is. We love what we do, and we do what we love yknow and what better a life lesson that that. This video has good sound effect timing too.

“Kyle Chin skates from top to bottom down a beautiful hill in Outerspace. Wanted to capture a bit of freeriding, DH, slow motion and scenery. Shot with a Canon 7D, LENS Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 and Sigma 70mm f2.8. This video captures the beauty of riding. “

Koastal Boards Pin Tail Longboard Review

December 26, 2009 in Bombing Hills, Longboard Decks, Longboarding, Longboarding Gear, Media

Lets get to the heart of the post and getting into the best longboards in my opinion. This review will talk about the boards I ride and others that my friend’s have. For the first post we have Koastal Boards Pin Tail Longboard

I have this board thanks to the guys at Koastal Boards. The Koastal Boards Pin Tail Longboard has trucks that just pop when you want to carve hard. I love cruising on flat ground while carving on this pin tail. Even though it’s great on flatland this board can bomb a hill and that’s exactly what I want in a board, flexibility. It’s priced very moderately for how well it really preforms. I highly suggest grabbing this pin tail longboard while you can.

Longboarding is a VERY good thing

Matt Rosen of LoadedNewsletter on Youtube emailed me this video of him and Jesse Gonzalez rippin up a longboard, doing some tricks, and showing off their amazing boards. They show their falling too which I love haha. The music is by Gypsy Kings and the song is called Djobi, Djoba. Jesse is riding a Dervish Flex 1 Longboard with Paris Trucks and the wheels are Orangatang InHeat (80a). Matt’s boarding on a Dervish Flex 2 Longboard with Randal 180 trucks and the wheels are Retro Big Zigs (80a). Ch-ch-check it out.

This is a GOOD THING

Bombing Old Willy Hill on a Longboard

November 4, 2009 in Bombing Hills, Longboard Decks, Longboarding, Media

An excellent example of a longboarding video. They bomb this huge smooth hill and have an awesome camera angle. It looks to me as if theyre using a Loaded Dervish Longboard. Definitely recommend getting one, they ride low, fast, and stable.

The beginning has an awesome song by Ronald Jenkees whos probably the coolest musician you’ll ever see, check him out on Youtube for your sake. This vid features a drop-mount longboard that’s really flat and kinda looks like a Landyachtz Drop Carve Fiberglass Longboard, I’m not sure though. Let me know if you have any idea. This has some good hill bombing shots and a nice crew of longboarders and freeborders with super bright matching orange wheels and I dig it haha!
