Goofboarding. Practice your balance like a G

September 5, 2010 in Longboarding Gear

Tryna nail that new trick down? Maybe you just suck and fall a lot? Well heres yo thang! It helps you get your balance. It’s just a flat boad and a rolliestick (or a cylinder if you want to be all super serious hah) and you can practice your cross stepping in a safe manor. It’s designed for surfers, but we’re concrete surfers around these parts, so check it out!

The GoofBoard was designed for surfers, but great for all board sports. It’s all about riding rail-to-rail, a motion truer to the surfing and board riding experience. Way too much fun, but as challenging as you want to take it. Great for cross stepping, nose riding, and all longboard moves plus SUP surfers find the Goof Board quite inspiring. Short board surfers and skaterboarders will appreciate the unique challenge. We are told that kiteboarding and windsurfing enthusiasts will benefit from the footwork challenge. Excellent for leg and core strengthening while having fun in the process and increasing style. Goof Boarding is different fron the rest.

Longboard Shop: Get Longboard and Skate Boarding Trucks

Trucks can be the breaker for some longboarders. The different turning angles, spring loaded or not, the type of bearings you use and the wheel combination all make a large difference in how it rides. Whether it’s for bombing hills or street cruising, knowing the trucks that work best for your riding style and longboarding flair. Longboarding.

Original S8 (200mm) Longboard Trucks:

“We have developed three longboard truck sizes, each to hit a specific rider / riding type. Similarly we have also developed three different tension springs to expand our riding possibilities. Each truck size and spring tension has a completely different feel.

We recommend that heavier riders (160 Lbs and over) as well as riders who have a lot of longboarding experience on traditional longboard trucks (randal, paris etc) go for the wider sizes of Originals (S8 200mm or S10 250mm) and for the heavier tension spring options.

Lighter riders (less than 160Lbs), beginners (who will enjoy the ease of turning) and riders who surf, and want a more surfy ride, may want to lean towards the mid or small sized hangers and the lighter tension springs.”

These are super bad ass looking trucks. They have yellow and black spirals and that is always something to go for ha. They are long, so they look like they are great for bombing hills or street cruising, just use a wrench to adjust the tilt to whatever you are doing

Get a Pair of Longboard Sliding Gloves NOW

There’s nothing like a pair of sliding gloves to take your longboarding to the next level. With a pair of sliding gloves you can get low and add some flair to your style by spinning, sliding, and mastering the roads. You can make your own but I recommend the Loaded Sliding Gloves as they have everything you need at a very reasonable price.

These are one size fits all. They have included knuckle protection, a breathable mesh top side, a wrist cushion (not intended as a replacement for proper wrist protection, but it helps,) and a whole lot more.
Editor’s Comments: If you’re new to longboarding or want to go to the next elevation, I highly highly recommend picking up a pair of these!
